This listing is for a clamp kit which fits the cross bars for the Land Rover Defender L663.

We sell 2 versions of this kit:

• Zinc plated mild steel top plate (this kit) - steel is magnetic so this is suitable for mounting magnetic accessories to (aerials etc). The zinc coating offers some resistance against corrosion.
• Stainless steel top plate - this is non-magnetic but offers increased resistance against corrosion.

We noticed a lack of mounting options for the cross bars on the Defender (which appear to be manufactured by Thule) - so we engineered our own solution!

NOTE: The cross bars and expedition roof rack bars are different profiles to the standard cross bars - this item fits the standard cross bars only - see our other item for the expedition roof rack clamps.

We have put together this kit which will give you a solid and secure mounting plate that you can mount your accessories to (lights/ aerials /bike rack / roof box etc).

Although you can use the T-slot in the cross bars, we wanted something a little more "chunky" and adaptable to mount other accessories.

The overall size of the top mounting plate is 155mm x 135mm.

The 3D printed clamps are designed to fit the profile of the cross bars perfectly.

The UK manufactured stainless steel metal plates include bottom strap plates and a square top plate which includes holes for you to mount your accessories to.

The assembly is tightened down securely in place with the supplied stainless steel coach bolts and stainless nyloc nuts.

The top plate is made from zinc plated steel (magnetic) and the bottom strap plates are made from stainless steel (non-magnetic).

We are proud to say that all of the main components in this kit are designed in-house by us and are manufactured locally in the UK.

The blocks are 3D printed in-house - 3D printing leaves layer lines, and a texture on the top surfaces. This is a characteristic of this method, but gives a satisfactory finish.

This kit is shaped to fit the cross bars which are sold by Land Rover as an accessory for the Defender (part number VPLER0178).

This item WILL NOT fit the expedition roof rack as the bars are a different profile (see our item LRDR640 for this).
