Range Rover L322 - HSE only

The Range Rover L322 was originally launched in 2002 and at that time the satnav was an expensive upgrade.

If your car is one of the cars that does not have the satnav but just the in dash radio / CD player then here is your chance to upgrade your car to a modern in dash stereo system.

This unit can ONLY be used in the HSE & SE models ( non satnav models ) as the VOGUE ( satnav ) models have a complex amplifier in the boot that we have not fully integrated with this unit yet but we are hopeful !

So basically this unit does pretty much all you would expect from a modern car satnav system. Radio / MP3 / Iphone / bluetooth music / bluetooth phone / satnav ( no satnav software provided with the unit ).

This unit is fitted with a 7 Inch touch screen display ( resolution 800x480 ).

We have fitted one of these in our company demonstrator and have put the fitting video below in the listing.

We have 2 types of satnavs available and this unit is currently the best fitting / functioning unit we can find and certainly looks more like a factory fit design.

This unit is plug and play ( no wires to cut ) and even the steering wheel controls work - volume up / down - search up / down and also phone.

The software on these units is based on Windows CE platform so you can install your own satnav software ( no satnav software is provided with the unit )

GPS Software can be purchased from several suppliers for this unit. We recommend PolNav. We will do a video how to install and use the PolNav Software, which is currently the only software we support with this unit. See below link to where you can purchase this software from.

We are Range Rover experts more than in car entertainment systems but we have worked with the supplier to get this kit Range Rover compatible. This is a DIY kit and should be possible for most people to install and work out the on screen menus and connect their i phone etc to the system. This system is a versatile easy to use system at a great price aimed at everyday drivers - if you want to turn your car into a mobile disco there are probably better options.

This unit fits pretty well in the dash as you can see from the pictures.

The colour screen is clear and sharp although in bright daylight it can be more difficult to read - this is not really a major criticism of this unit as this is a problem we have seen in factory fitted systems.

This unit may appear expensive but when you can spend around £150 just to repair the pixel problems on the standard unit and the consider you have GPS / Satnav ( your own software ) / DVD / colour Screen etc it represents good value for money.

In fitting this unit you will lose the driver information display and the ability to set the time on the clock - although this can be overcome by routing the plug for the driver display unit through the top speaker grille where it can easily be connected when required ( see video ).

This unit does have an input for rear view camera ( no camera supplied )

This unit has picture in picture which allows you to have the radio and the satnav both on the screen.

We have now added a fitting kit of 4 spacers a to fix the stereo to the "cradle" ( not shown in video ), also a MicroSD card & adaptor included in the fitting kit so that you can download the satnav software from the above link and be up and going in minutes.

Fitting Details

Basically you need to remove the dash end panels dash top and then remove the old system - fit the new system and connect wiring.

Which Vehicles will this fit ?

This unit will only fit the Range Rover L322 models with the in dash CD / Radio player from 2002 to 2005 - this is the HSE and SE models.

This does not fit the Range Rover L322 with in built satnav unit.

Basically if you have a rear amplifier this unit will not fit - see below video.
