2009 Spec Soft Leather Steering Wheel

Landrover Discovery 3 (LR3) 2005 onwards EXCHANGE

Brand new in retail packing this steering wheel is an ideal replacement for steering wheels that are worn or damaged at the top by exposure to sun etc or makes a great upgrade if you want to go to 09 spec.

For an expensive car the steering wheels on the Discovery's are a bit of a disappointment and this issue has now been addressed by Landrover. From 2009 the steering wheels have been upgraded to the soft napa leather which is much nicer to hold and wears much better than the old leather used.

We are offering these steering wheels at a great price because we are currently producing a batch of wood inlayed steering wheels and we start with a new wheel then remove the leather and apply the wood etc BUT it seems a shame to do this to a brand new wheel so are selling the new wheels and will use your returned wheel as the basis for the refurb.

In addition to the main steering wheel core the wheel comes complete with rear plastic cover. The plastic covers differ on the HSE / HS - this cover is the HSE version with the cut out for the phone switches. The rear plastic just pops into place so it is easy to remove from your old wheel if you want to retain the plastic from your old wheel.

This listing is for a bare steering wheel with no airbag and no switches.

You retain all your original wiring / airbags etc so there are no compatibility issues.

Exchange Process

This steering wheel is sold on an exchange basis - what does this mean ?

We take standard steering wheels and remove the leather and re-profile the steering wheel and then recover with new leather. We then sell these refurbished items on and exchange basis so that we get the customers original steering wheel back for refurbishment. This way we can keep costs down and prevent the old steering wheels ending up in landfill.

When you purchase this item you are agreeing to return your old steering wheel to us ( you will need to pay the return postage ). You will need to contact us to by phone on 01285 706112 to provide us with your card details so we can retain these in case you decide not to return the steering wheel.

If you live outside of the UK or would like to keep your original core then an ADDITIONAL charge of £85 will need to be paid which can be refunded if the wheel is returned.

When returning your original steering wheel please ensure that your details are included inside the box so we know who is returning the item.

Which Vehicles will this fit ?

This item WILL fit all Discovery 3 models from launch in 2005 to 2009 ( the 2010 Discovery 4 model has a joypad control and different steering wheel )

This item WILL NOT fit a Freelander 2 ( although the steering wheel looks the same the centre spline on the Freelander 2 is different )

This item WILL NOT fit a Range Rover L322 Vogue ( We have a range of steering wheels for a Range Rover L322 - see our other listings for more details )

This WILL NOT fit a P38 Range Rover.
