This listing is for a carbon impregnated pollen filter for a Land Rover Discovery 3 ( called LR3 in some regions )

Although only listed for later models ( 2010 on ) by Land Rover this is a great upgrade for the early models ( 2005 -2009 ) - see below video fitting this item on our 2005 Discovery 3

This is the upgrade over the normal paper filter and is technical sold as a "Pollution" filter by Land Rover ( PN LR023977 )

The carbon particles in the filter absorb odours and bad smells and is ideal for cars with dogs or smokers and older cars generally.

If your air conditioning is not blowing as well as it used to / ought to it could well be a blocked pollen filter.

There are 2 types of pollen filter available on the market one is carbon impregnated the other is just paper.

The carbon impregnated one will be greyish in colour and the cheaper non carbon filter will be white - see pictures.

The carbon impregnated filters remove pollen AND also other smells and odours ( traffic fumes etc )

The non carbon impregnated filters only filter pollen / dust and will not remove odours.

This item is the carbon impregnated version !

This item is so easy to change yourself and not expensive it's not worth waiting for the next service ( when they will probably only fit the cheaper paper item ).

If you have allergy problems or live in an area with lots of trees you will need to make sure your filter is changed more regularly.

Fitting Details

Open glove box

Squeeze together the "arcs" on the hinge guides to lower the glove box fully.

Release the clip at the left edge of the fliter door.

Pull out old filter and fit new filter.

This will not take you more than 5 minutes start to finish!
